Al Masry SC have completed the signing of Eritrean striker Ali Suleman, adding one of the most productive Eritrean forwards in Egyptian football to their squad for the 2026/27 season.

Suleman arrives from Kahrabaa Ismailia after an impressive 2025/26 campaign. According to recent reports, the 25-year-old has signed a four-year contract with the Port Said club. The transfer is reportedly worth EGP 15 million, with another EGP 10 million potentially payable in performance-related bonuses.

A breakthrough season in Egypt

Suleman made a major impact during his first season in the Egyptian Premier League. Statistical databases record 26 league appearances, 11 goals and 3 assists during the 2025/26 campaign.

His goalscoring form placed him among the league's leading forwards. Earlier in the season, he was already competing near the top of the scoring charts, reaching six goals by April.

His overall Egyptian campaign was even more productive when cup competitions are included. FootyStats credits him with 31 club appearances, 16 goals and 4 assists across the Premier League, League Cup and Egypt Cup.

Strong record before moving to Egypt

The Al Masry move follows an equally impressive spell in Ethiopia. Before joining Kahrabaa Ismailia, Suleman played for Hawassa City, where he scored 47 goals in 91 league appearances between 2022 and 2025. His final season with Hawassa was particularly impressive, producing 21 goals in 33 league matches.

His career record highlights a consistent goalscoring progression:

  • Bahir Dar Kenema: 26 appearances, 5 goals
  • Hawassa City: 91 appearances, 47 goals
  • Kahrabaa Ismailia 2025/26: 26 league appearances, 11 goals
  • Eritrea national team: 11 appearances, 6 goals

Suleman has also become an important figure for the Eritrea national team, where his six international goals put him among the country's all-time leading scorers.

A major step for Eritrean football

The move to Al Masry represents another important step in Suleman's career. He now has the opportunity to compete regularly at one of Egypt's highest levels and potentially in continental football with a club that finished fifth in the Egyptian Premier League last season.

For Eritrean football, the transfer is significant. Suleman's journey from Eritrea and Ethiopian football to becoming a goalscoring striker in Egypt's top division demonstrates the growing potential of Eritrean players on the international club stage.
